Resident Advisers

Embodying the spirit of cura personalis, a Resident Adviser (RA) is a Counselor, Mentor, and Moderator, who aims to contribute meaningfully to the continuing formation of resident students.  

As a role model, the RA actively promotes and lives out the Ignatian values and principles that the University upholds.  Committed to an apostolate of presence, he/she seeks to be instrumental in the academic, physical, emotional and spiritual development of the resident students, through constant interaction and dialogue with them.

As Counselor, the RA listens to the personal concerns of residents and helps them process their thoughts and feelings by giving feedback, empowering, and even mediating, when necessary.

As Mentor, the RA helps residents understand and appreciate the freedoms and responsibilities integral to community life by assisting them in making certain choices and understanding the outcome of these choices.

As Moderator, the RA acts as a positive force in developing the leadership skills and work ethics of the residents by coaching them in the conceptualization, organization and implementation of various dorm projects and activities.

In performing these roles, the RA seeks to contribute genuinely to the formation of a dynamic dorm community composed of responsible individuals committed to the University ideals of excellence and service.
